The mechanical processing of plastic products is a general term for the processing of plastic products by mechanical means. The types of mechanical processing of plastic products mainly include cutting, punching, cutting, drilling, threading, machining, and laser processing. Products with high dimensional accuracy and complex structure can be obtained by machining. In addition, machining is also an auxiliary process for molding or other molding operations. Such as the cutting edge of the molded article, the sawing of the extruded profile, and cutting the plastic sheet into a prescribed size.

(1) Cutting of plastics, mainly used for plastic sheets, tubes, rods and other profiles, can be used in a variety of methods, such as sawing, shearing, milling, grinding wheel cutting, laser cutting, electric wire cutting, ultrasonic cutting, high pressure Water flow (waterjet) cutting, etc. For the cutting of rod-shaped or tubular plastic materials, lathes can also be used.

(2) The punching of plastic is to cut a plastic sheet with a die having a certain shape and a cutting edge. Punching methods include punching, punching, cutting, cutting, trimming, and refurbishing, among which punching and punching are the most common.

(3) The cutting process of plastic is to cut off the excess material on the blank or workpiece with a cutting tool to obtain the machine part with the required geometry, size and surface quality.

(4) The purpose of plastic drilling is to drill holes, which can be carried out not only on various drilling machines, but also on lathes and milling machines, and hand drills.

(5) Thread processing of plastic, tapping and car thread. Tapping refers to the manufacture of internal threaded teeth in the eyelet, and the threaded teeth are made of external thread on the cylindrical body. Tapping is performed on a tapping bed or a drill with a tapping attachment, but it is also done by hand. The tool used is a tap. The car thread can be turned or milled, or it can be done manually with threaded die.

(6) Laser processing of plastics. The essence of processing lasers with plastics is that plastics can quickly convert absorbed light into heat and ablate the plastic itself in a short period of time. If the laser is concentrated at a certain point on the plastic part, the laser can completely destroy the plastic in the forward direction within the range touched by the light. Thus, when the plastic article is not moved, the designated portion of the illumination is laser-punched, and the article can be "cut" to grow as the article moves. The conversion from laser to thermal energy is not only extremely concentrated but also very fast, so that the transfer of the converted thermal energy component is close to zero.
